Donostiako Oroimen Historikoaren Mapak gure iraganaren memoria dinamiko bezain kritikora gonbidatu nahi zaitu. Iraganean gertaturikoa ulertzeko ahalegin honetan, gure proposamena 1936eko udaratik aurrerako gertakizunen kokaleku fisikoa ezagutzea da, baita sufrimendu horiek gogora ekartzeko hirian ipini diren oroitzapen elementuak ere agertzea. Horretarako, gune horiek espazioan nahiz denboran kokatu dira.

Besteren artean, geure buruari galdetu ahal izango diogu: Nola izan zen posible gure hiriko kaleak borroka eremu bilakatzea? Zergatik ehunka pertsonek galdu zuten bizia hain era bortitzean horren ezagunak zaizkigun tokietan? Egunero zeharkatu ohi ditugun zein tokietan egon ziren giltzaperatuak milaka donostiar?

Historia ez da anonimoa, izan ere, aurpegiak, izenak, helbideak… ditu. Estatu golpe militarraren ondorioz Gerra Zibilak Donostian izandako agertokiak ezagutzera emanez, eztabaida sosegatua eta oroitzapen hunkigarria sustatu nahi dugu, mapak jasotzen duen eduki aberatsaren bidez. 1936ko ekain hartatik aurrera ezer ez zen berdin izango. Nora goazen jakiteko, halabeharrezkoa zaigu nondik gatozen jakitea.

Important places in the time between the Civil War and the Franco dictatorship

The Donostia/San Sebastian Historical Memory Map is meant to be an invitation to carry out a critical and dynamic reappraisal of our past. In the interest of this endeavour, to comprehend what really happened from that summer of 1936 onwards. To that end, we propose getting to know the physical setting, the time when the events took place and showing the elements put into place to commemorate some of the tragedies suffered by so many.

We shall, thus, ask ourselves: How was it possible that the streets of our city could become a battle ground? Why did hundreds of people lose their lives in such violent circumstances in places now so familiar to us? Which, of the many places we pass by every day, probably served to lock up and put away thousands of people from our city, men and women alike?

History isn’t something anonymous. It has faces, names, addresses… By becoming familiar with many of the settings in which the Civil War unfolded in San Sebastian after the Military Coup, we wish to promote serene debate and heartfelt remembrance. Nothing would ever be the same again after thatmonth of June 1936. To know where we’re going, we must know where we come from. History is there, just round the corner.

La Carte des lieux de Mémoire Historique de Donostia /San Sebastián est conçue comme une invitation au souvenir,dans une approche dynamique et critique de notre passé,pour mieux comprendre ce qui s'est passé à partir de l'été de 1936.

Pour ce faire, la proposition est de découvrir l’environnement physique des événements et leur situation dans le temps, ainsi que montrer les éléments commémoratifs qui ont été mis en place pour rappeler certaines de ces situations de souffrance. Ainsi, nous demanderons-nous : comment a-t-il été possible que les rues de notre ville soient devenues un champ de bataille ?pourquoi des centaines de personnes ontperdu leur viede manière violente dans des endroits qui nous sont si familiers ?quelssont ces lieux faisant partie de notre vie quotidienne où des milliers de Donostiarrasont été faits prisonniers ?

L'histoire n'est pas anonyme: elle a des visages, des noms, des adresses ... Au travers de la connaissance des scénariosqui se produisirent consécutivement au Coup d’État militaire et pendant la guerre civileà Donostia/San Sebastian, nous avons l’ambition de stimuler un débat serein et un souvenir ému. Rien ne seraplus pareil après ce mois de juin 1936. Pour savoir où nous allons, il est essentiel de savoir d'où nous venons. L'histoire nous attend juste au coin de la rue.
